Help

How can we help?

Answers to the questions people ask most. If yours is not here, send us a message.

Entering

Who can enter?

Anyone aged 18 or over who lives in the UK and has an ORVETTA account. ORVETTA staff, the contractors who run our draws, and members of their households cannot enter.

How do I enter a draw?

Choose a prize, choose how many entries you want, and pay at checkout. Your entry numbers appear in your account straight away and in your confirmation email.

Can I enter without paying?

Yes. Every draw has a free entry route by post, and a free entry has exactly the same chance as a paid one. See Free entry.

Is there a limit on how many entries I can have?

Yes. Each draw shows a maximum per person, and free entries count towards it. Your own spending limits apply as well.

What is my chance of winning?

Each draw publishes its maximum number of entries. If a draw has one winner and every entry is taken, each entry has a 1 in that number chance. If fewer entries are taken, every entry has a better chance. The prize page shows the figures for each draw.

Draws and results

What happens if a draw does not sell out?

The draw still takes place at the published time and the prize is still awarded. We never cancel a draw, move its closing date or change the prize because of low entries.

How is the winner chosen?

When entries close, we freeze and publish the list of valid entries. The winner is then chosen with public randomness from drand, a service run by independent organisations, in a round produced after the freeze. Anyone can repeat the calculation. See Transparency.

Can ORVETTA change a result?

No. A recorded result is never edited. If a winner turns out not to be eligible, we publish a separate correction record that explains what happened.

Where can I see the results?

Every result is on the Draw results page, with the full public record. Draws that are about to run are on the Live page.

Payments and refunds

How can I pay?

By debit card, and with Apple Pay or Google Pay where your device supports them. Credit cards are accepted up to £250 in any 30 days and never for instant win draws.

Do you store my card details?

No. Card details go straight to our payment provider. We keep only the card type, the last four digits and whether it is a credit or a debit card.

Can I get a refund?

You get a full refund if your entries cannot be issued, if a draw is cancelled, or if your entries are withdrawn because you start a break. Once entries are issued, they cannot be cancelled because you changed your mind. See the Refund policy.

Winning

How will I know if I have won?

We contact the winner by email and phone, using the details in their account, within 2 working days of the draw. We will never ask you to pay anything to receive a prize.

Can I take cash instead of the prize?

Where a draw publishes a cash alternative, the winner can choose it instead of the prize.

Will my name be published?

Only if you agree. You choose separately whether we may show your first name, your region, a photo, a video or your comments, and you can change your mind at any time.

Your account

How do I keep my account secure?

Use a password you do not use anywhere else, and turn on two-step verification with an authenticator app in your account security settings.

How do I close my account?

Go to your account, then Responsible participation, and choose Close account. Your entries in draws that are still open are withdrawn and refunded.

Responsible participation

How do spending limits work?

Everyone has a platform limit of £500 in any 30 days. You can set a lower daily, weekly or monthly limit. A lower limit applies at once; a higher one waits for a cooling-off period of 24 hours.

Where can I get help?

If you are worried about your spending, see Responsible participation for free and confidential support services. You can also contact us at any time.
